Women on Tall Ships: training, sailing, and engineering on the Lady Nelson

About this event

Clare Darling recently participated in the Lady Nelson's all female crew sail (from Master to Deckies), for International Women's Day 2025. Clare is Engineer on board and comes from a history of mirror dinghy sailing in her childhood, participating in the Ocean Youth Club in the UK, that included sails to France and the Channel Islands. In the last 4 years she has made her way through the ranks of the Lady Nelson as deckhand, senior deckhand, bosun, and now engineer. Clare will share her tall ship sailing, training and engineering experiences with us. Clare's next personal goal is to stay fit, live healthily into ageing, and grow old disgracefully.
