Derwent Valley Autumn Festival cruise
About this event
* * UPDATE * *
Although the CYCT has received approval to pass through the Bridgewater Bridge, the cruise is not going to go ahead. Concerns about safely passing in the new channel through the old bridge, debris in the river, how the river is closed on Saturday for rowing racing and the lack of places to moor whilst in New Norfolk with what is expected to be a very busy weekend on the river. Once things settle down, then we can plan a new date.
* * UPDATE * *
Take the rising tide from 0930 hours on Saturday and head up the Derwent under the new Bridgewater Bridge and hopefully through the gap where the old Lifting bridge was - and isn't anymore (?) - to tie up in New Norfolk on one of the pontoons, or anchor somewhere suitable and relax overnight before heading to the Festival on Sunday. In the past there's been lots of colour, food, crafts and games. Keep space in your tummy for one of everyone's favourites - a dagwood dog dunked in tomato sauce !
Return Sunday afternoon, after you're full, with the tide rising until 1721 in Hobart.
THIS CRUISE WILL ONLY BE POSSIBLE AFTER THE LIFTING BRIDGE HAS BEEN REMOVED. CHECK FOR UPDATES NEARER THE TIME.
