North, south, east and west of Bruny Island
Tasmania
Weather permitting .... we plan the 89 NM circumnavigation of Bruny, Tasmania’s fourth-largest
island, utilising the familiar D’Entrecasteaux Channel anchorages on the western side, and
potentially Cloudy Bay, Adventure Bay, Moorina Bay, Trumpeter Bay and Bull Bay on the south
and eastern sides.
A feature of this cruise will be the spectacular southern and eastern coast line,
including Cape Bruny, Tasman Head and The Friars, Fluted Cape and Cape Queen Elizabeth.
Starting from Hobart and meeting up with other cruisers along the way as required, we will proceed
clockwise or anti-clockwise as the conditions dictate.
We have allowed a couple of spare days to give us the best chance of fitting in with the weather.
If all else fails, we will revert to a down and back cruise on the east or west side of the Island.
